About me:

I'm Mohamed Derri, a Senior Software & Machine Learning Engineer (L5) with 7+ years of experience building, optimizing, and deploying production ML systems across intelligent transportation, Generative AI (RLHF), graph ML (AML/compliance), healthcare, and real estate. I build and fine-tune state-of-the-art models using Python and deep learning libraries (fastai, PyTorch, TensorFlow), with strong experience in real-time computer vision (YOLO/CNN, tracking, triggering), MLOps automation (auto-labeling, benchmarking, retraining pipelines), and LLM-powered agents for validation and quality control. I also bring strong software engineering skills: C++/Linux, Python/Flask APIs, MySQL database design plus big data experience with Hadoop, PySpark, and Scala. I'm 3× Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certified and certified in Docker/Kubernetes (IBM).

Currently at Transurban, I lead the end-to-end ML solution for tolling at scale (80k+ transactions/day, ~2 years zero downtime) across I-95/I-495. Previously at Scale AI (Generative AI / RLHF) and Oracle (Graph ML / AML). I enjoy problem-solving, team collaboration, and mentoring teams to deliver production rollouts.
